Publication Division
The Publication Division was set up in 1963 (as Publication Unit). One of its objectives was to prepare model textbooks for schools and children’s literature. A few model textbooks were published in 1964-65. Later, following recommendations of the Central Committee of Educational Literature, the Division took up in 1967 the publication of textbooks and related instructional materials, primarily required for schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and several public schools in all States of the country and abroad.
This Division continues to publish school textbooks (in Hindi, English and Urdu), policy documents, supplementary readers, teachers’ guides, research studies and monographs, vocational education textbooks, books for bridge course, exemplar problems, laboratory manuals, journals and school kits.
