Prof. Pia Rebello Britto, Global Director of Education and Adolescent Development,
UNICEF, HQ, New York visited NCERT on February 16, 2026 and interacted with Director and senior members of faculty of NCERT.
Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed between NCERT and the
New Castle University, Australia on February 4, 2026. Professor Alex Zelensky,
Vice-Chancellor and President, The University of Newcastle and Director, NCERT,
Prof. Dinesh Prasad Saklani signed the Letter of Intent (LoI) Signing of the Letter
of Intent (LoI) will facilitate further collaboration between the two institutions
in the following domains
Areas of Collaboration:

Teacher Education:
Initiating both pre-service and capacity building of in-service teachers, stimulation teaching, and integration of digital technologies into teacher education programmes.

Joint Research Programmes:
Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research with a special focus on AI, stimulation teaching, and research on ethics and values in the school education sector.

Doctoral Research Training:
Supporting doctoral scholars pursuing research in the Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs), NCERT, through research skill development and academic writing support. It was also proposed to launch joint doctoral programmes for Indian students with Newcastle University and NCERT.

Establishing an Indo-Australian Advanced Center for Research and Teacher Education:
It was proposed by NCERT that establishing an advanced centre for research and teacher education would be beneficial for both countries. The group discussed the possibilities, scope, and need for such a centre.

Special Education:
Newcastle University expressed its interest in Special Education as another significant area of collaboration.
The Global Coalition for Foundational Learning (GCFL)
held a dialogue with senior faculty of NCERT in select areas of expertise –
Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Assessment, and Educational Technology and
Digital Education on 3rd September 2025. Director, NERT. Professor Dinaesh Prasad
Saklani chaired the dialogue.
Visit of Civil Service Trainees from the Maldives at the
Institute of Good Governance, India on 26th August 2025 to NCERT.
A team of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA),
Republic of Korea undertook a Feasibility Study visit to India as a follow up to
signing of Record of Discussion (RoD). to PSSCIVE, Bhopal from 06.05.2025 to
08.05.2025 and to NIE, NCERT, New Delhi on 09.05.2025 and from 13.05.2025 to
15.05.2025. This is part of the NCERT-Academy of Korean Studies (AKS),
Republic of Korea (RoK) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for vocational education
programme (Mechatronics), Strengthening Vocational Education and Training in
Mechatronics in India which is placed in the DM School, Regional Institute
of Education, Bhopal and PSSCIVE as the nodal Institute.
A group of 30 Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD)
facilitators from the Ministry of Education, Bhutan visited NCERT on April 15 and
16, 2025, and interacted with members of faculty from the Department of Elementary
Education, CIET, Workshop Division and so on. The group visited the IIT-NCERT
nursery school, PM SHRI Kendirya Vidyalaya NCERT campus and had hands-on experience
in digital technologies in CIET.
Signing ceremony of the Record of Discussion (RoD) for
the establishment of Mechatronics laboratory and rolling out the Mechatronics course
in DM School, Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal. RoD was signed by the
Director, NCERT and the Country Director, Korea International Cooperation Agency
(KOICA), India on March 7, 2025 at NCERT for the establishment of the Mechatronics
laboratory and procurement of equipments for the introduction of the course in DM
School, Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal. This is part of the Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS), Republic of Korea
(RoK) and NCERT.
